Grow Your Audience As A New Coach

You’ve completed your certification, put the finishing touches on your website and are all ready to start coaching clients.

But…where are they?

They aren’t exactly lining up at your door… are they?

To build a successful coaching business, you’ll have to create an audience of engaged ideal clients so when you launch your newest offer, they can’t wait to sign up.

So how do you do that?

First determine where you want to create your community. You can do it almost anywhere – Instagram, Snap chat, Twitter or Facebook. And on Facebook, you can do it on your personal page, business page or create a private group.  I’ve seen these all work well, so choose the one that feels best to you.

I personally chose to get started with Facebook because that is where I felt most comfortable, I already knew how to use it and most importantly that is were my ideal clients are engaging.

Your next step is to identify your super fan.  I’m guessing you’ve already done some ideal client work (and if you haven’t then you’ll want to) so you know exactly who you are talking to. It’s so important to actually talk to possible ideal clients to learn all about them. You’ll need to know what they dream about, what they desire and most importantly, what is their biggest struggle that you can help them with. You want to know them so well that when you write, they feel like you are reading their mind (or their journal). You want to know what they need to hear.

Third, you’ll start creating social media posts for your ideal clients. Often you’ll want to speak directly to one dream client and let them know that you understand where they are in life, their struggles and their dreams. Use stories and examples form your own life to demonstrate how you can help them. Share tips that they can use right away so they know it’s worth it to read your content. Remember that people share things that make them feel better, make them look better and that actually make their life better

If you want them to share your posts (and you do in order to grow your audience) then you’ll also want to speak FOR them at times. You’ll want to say the things that you know they are thinking. That way when they see your post, they’ll share it because they agree with you. This is great for personal or business Facebook pages and photo memes are a great medium to use for these types of posts.

When you start making these post, you’ll start to see who is commenting on it and who is sharing it. The person who loves, comments on and shares all your content is your super fan.

Learn more about your super fan to create even more posts specifically for them. Check out their profile, reply to their comments and possible even ask if you can interview them. This will allow you to tailor your content even more to your audience.

To grow your audience, you’ll want to use a variety of posts. People like variety so use some status updates, some photo posts and some video post. Throw in a few polls, questions or 3D photos to keep things interesting.

To nurture your audience and create authentic bonds,  consistently show up and offer value to your readers. Plan a very valuable training at least once weekly and  make sure to announce it before hand so that your fans can show up. You want to teach your audience that it’s worth it for them to give you a piece of their busy lives. You want them to know that if they hang out with you for 20-60 minutes, they will walk away with something that improves their life or business.

As you gain followers, make sure to love and nurture them. Reply to their comments, ask for their input when creating new content and feel gratitude for them. When you appreciate something, it amplifies in your life.  Send them love energetically, thank God for them and thank them when they show up for your live videos and trainings.

Use these steps and watch your audience grow like crazy. This is a critical step in creating a foundation from which your business can thrive…because you can’t sell even the best coaching program or product if you don’t have anyone to share it with.
